H.M.S. Bounty Launch

Scale 1/16 On April
28, 1789, Fletcher Christian and other members of the HMS Bounty took
control of the ship away from Captain William Bligh who had provoked and
antagonized officers and crew with frequent and uncontrolled outbursts. The
final straw came when a matter of coconuts stolen from the ship’s store
provoked a true mutiny. The mutineers cast Bligh and 18 of his loyal
supporters adrift in the Bounty’s 23’ launch. Bligh's demonstration and
obsession with punishing the Mutineers caused Bligh to navigate the
dangerously overcrowded boat on a 47 day voyage to the Dutch colony of
Timora a port and safety. Later a Courts Martial was held and the mutinous
crew of the Bounty were sought.
