The PHANTOM

This is a beautiful, highly detailed, 1/96th scale wooden model kit of the
Pilot Schooner, Phantom from Model Shipways. Designed as a pilot schooner by
Dennison J. Lawlor, and was built in East Boston in 1868 for the Port of New
York pilots. She was the forerunner of the legendary Lawlor-designed pilot
boats of New England. The Phantom had an a lustrous carrier that included
the rescue in 1886 of 853 people that were aboard the sinking liner S.S.
Oregon. The Phantom was lost in the blizzard of 1888 off Sandy Hook, New
Jersey.
Now you can build a true replica of this historic vessel that will be over
13" long and 14" tall when completed. This wonderful ENTRY LEVEL kit features a machine
carved hull reduces building time, basswood and metal construction pieces,
copper hull sheathing and hardwood launching ways, 3 sizes of rigging line,
3 sheet of detailed plans and clear instructions that will make your kit a
joy to assemble and display.
