This fantastic Vessel, launched May 7th, 1765 and played an important part in the English fleet, as well as English History, from 1778 until 1812. The Victory built its reputation as A mighty fighting vessel in many important battles including Ushant in 1781 and San Vicente in 1797. Can you imagine being a sailor on an opposing vessel sailing into battle against this goliath of a ship! Then on October 21st 1805 at the Cape of Trafalgar, under the command of Admiral Nelson, the Victory met her finest hour, badly damaged the Victory was patched up in Gibraltar and upon her return to England
she was completely refurbished and remained in service until 1824. HMS Victory was docked in Portsmouth harbor where she sets to this day as a proud monument to Britain's many years as Ruler of the Seas.
